Minnesota taps Circular Action Alliance for EPR program
"Minnesota just took a major step in reshaping packaging waste! The state confirmed Circular Action Alliance as its producer responsibility organization under the 2024 Packaging Waste and Cost Reduction Act. That means by 2032, all packaging must be refillable, reusable, recyclable, or compostable. Producers will cover at least 50% of recycling costs by 2029, rising to 90% by 2031. For the paper packaging industry, this signals a shift toward more sustainable fiber sourcing and closed-loop recycling. With CAA already managing EPR programs in California and Colorado, expect streamlined compliance—but also rising costs for brands. Stay tuned as this unfolds!"https://www.packagingdive.com/news/minnesota-mpca-packaging-epr-circular-action-alliance/740282/
