MGM is to start recycling its playing cards in a major step for the local environment
In a bold move from blackjack to sustainability, MGM is turning 100 percent of its used playing cards into eco-friendly packaging, thanks to a high-tech partnership with Shenzhen-based Fnetlink Technology. Every day, Macao’s casinos burn five tonnes of cards—yep, that’s five tonnes of potential packaging going up in smoke. But not for long. MGM’s new waterless recycling system will convert 3,000 tonnes annually into high-quality recycled fibers. For the paper packaging industry, this is huge—expect a new supply stream of premium fiber from a previously untapped waste source, right in Asia’s gaming capital. A royal flush for circular economy fans!https://macaonews.org/news/business/mgm-macau-playing-cards-recycling/
